About the Artist

Pamela Smith launched her paper marbling career nearly 40 years ago, in tandem with her work as founding director of the Press of the Palace of the Governors, the Museum of New Mexico’s premier small press program and working exhibition in Santa Fe. A one-time book designer/letterpress printer, today she continues to produce marbled papers in her Abiquiu, New Mexico, studio and to teach the process in learning centers throughout the country. Her MarbleSmith work reflects a dedication to creating unique patterns, textures and color combinations for the finely bound book and is widely used by artists throughout the United States and abroad.
