About the Artist

Contributor to first issue of the marbling journal, "Ink & Gall. "A Kansas Marbler," with original tipped in sample of marbling in each copy. Vol. 1, No. 1, June, 1987. Exhibitor, International Exhibition of Marbling, Nicholaysen Art Museum, May 1992. Learned to marble from Peggy Skycraft in 1977. Leader of many workshops for adults and children. Created designs for products such as Puffs tissues, Hallmark Cards, book catalogs, CD covers, calendars, sheet music, etc. Created special marbled endpapers in red, white, and blue for book which President Bill Clinton presented to Russian President Boris Yeltsin at the Hyde Park Summit in 1995. Sold hand-marbled notecards through many museum shops including The Smithsonian, National Trust for Historic Preservation, Dallas Museum of Fine Arts, Boston Museum of Fine Arts, etc. Created endpapers and book cover designs for many publishers including Random House, HarperCollins, Abbeville Press, Houghton-Mifflin, Princeton Press, Ballantine Books, etc. Original papers for cover of Special Edition of John Updike's Rabbit at Rest, Alfred Knopf, 1990. Presently retired from marbling, but still involved in the creation of digital art and fractal art.
